Verdicts and Settlements:

CASE NO. 1

During the previous year our firm was able to have a NYC Police candidate reinstated by the New York City Civil Service commission. They reversed the decision of the New York City Police Department disqualifying him from employment based upon an arrest that occurred while he was a teenager. Through the efforts of the Law Offices of Jeffrey S. Wasserman, we were able to convince the Civil Service Commission that the arrest was not evidence of his character and that the events were too remote to be a basis for a disqualification.

CASE NO. 2

Settlement of $210,000

Motor vehicle accident, question of lights, independent witness.

A 49 year old man in route to his place of employment was broad sided by another vehicle travelling along the south service road of the Long Island Expressway. In spite of a witness who claimed that our client went through a steady red light we were able to convince the insurance carrier to settle the action for $210,000.

CASE NO. 3

Settlement of $140,000

Slip and fall in parking garage

A 45 year old woman parked her vehicle in an underground parking lot. After exiting the vehicle she stepped in a hole which was filled with water. As a result of the fall she sustained a rotator cuff tear which required surgery. During the course of discovery the defendant's agreed to settle the action for $140,000.
